Constructed from high grade stainless steel, which has a desirable combination of corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, however posed a challenge to productively and economically machine. Our solid understanding of machining techniques enabled us to engineer a multi-axis turning process to produce the components from a single set-up at accelerated cycle times, despite use of the hardened raw materials. We achieved precision ±0.0002” tolerances on all dimensions of this critical component.
